Platform differences worth noting
Play icons ship as square 512px masters and are masked by the launcher, so safe-area padding matters more than on iOS, where Apple applies a fixed rounded-rectangle crop. Icons that read well in both stores usually keep the identifying mark inside a generous central circle.
